EODB Service Portal Training Workshop is being held by the Dima Hasao Medicine Dealers Association

A one-day training session on providing information on current licenses (Form 20/21) granted to retail pharmacies and chemists throughout the district on the recently launched Ease of Doing Business (EODB) service portal was arranged by the Dima Hasao Medicine Dealers Association. Bonrai Rongmai, Hojai’s Drug Inspector and Dima Hasao’s in-charge, graced the program and offered insightful commentary on the subject. Nirmal Singh, the Association’s chairman, gave a welcoming speech and congratulated Rongmai with a traditional Assamese gamocha before the session got underway.

In order to promote openness and efficiency in pharmacy operations, Rongmai emphasized during the technical session the significance of posting licensing details on the EODB portal as part of the government’s digitalization plan. He provided a live demonstration of the entire procedure, which included data entry, annexure submission, system acknowledgment, and final approval by the relevant Drug Inspector. The main clauses of Schedules H, H-1, C, and C(i), which cover both biological and non-biological pharmaceuticals as well as psychoactive chemicals, were also covered in detail by Rongmai.

Inspector Rongmai emphasized the importance of maintaining records under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945 for safety and quality. He urged pharmacy members to display valid licenses, maintain hygiene, and have proper cold storage facilities. Members from various districts participated in a workshop, expressing gratitude for his guidance.
