Nagaland will be launching pink two-wheeler taxi service exclusively run by the women in Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts. The Regional Transport Authority of the two districts have invited applications from eligible women candidates for allotment of pink taxi two-wheeler permits. According to a public notice issued by the Office of the Secretary, RTA Dimapur, 15 permits each will be allotted for Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts to promote women empowerment and self-employment. The scheme is open to female riders who are indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland, aged between 20 and 40 years.
Applicants must possess permanent residential certificates, Aadhaar cards with district address, valid driving licences and unemployment certificates. Application forms will be available from February 9 at the office of the District Transport Officer, Dimapur, on payment of Rs 100 per form. The last date for submission is February 20. Shortlisted candidates for the riding and driving test will be announced on February 23 at the office of the District Transport Officer in Dimapur.
