The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has positioned skilling at the core of India’s inclusive artificial intelligence strategy with a dedicated pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, underway at Bharat Mandapam. Located at Booth Nos. 3F 26 and 3F 20, the pavilion highlights the theme “AI for Inclusive Development,” demonstrating how artificial intelligence can enhance productivity and livelihoods while supporting employment generation.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, said hosting one of the largest AI gatherings in the Global South reflects India’s commitment to shaping a responsible and inclusive AI future. He noted that India is equipping its youth and workforce with AI-ready skills to power economic growth and opportunities. Chaudhary is scheduled to visit the pavilion on February 17 to interact with participants and review AI-enabled skilling installations, while also engaging global technology leaders, academia and industry partners to strengthen collaborations.
The pavilion showcases a comprehensive framework built around “skilling in AI, skilling with AI and skilling for AI,” featuring initiatives such as SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness), nano-credentials, AI-driven career guidance through the Skill India Assistant, personalised course recommendations via the Skill India Digital Hub, and computer vision-based assessment systems. Interactive demonstrations highlight AI applications supporting farmers, electricians, construction workers and weavers.
In Guwahati, the expansion of AI-focused skilling initiatives could stimulate demand for digital training centres, IT-enabled services and local startups, helping the Northeast region integrate more actively into India’s rapidly expanding AI-driven business ecosystem.
