TAFE records historic FY26 tractor sales, outpaces industry growth on strong rural demand

India’s second-largest tractor maker, Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), delivered a record-breaking performance in FY26, reporting total sales of 2,14,951 tractors—its highest ever. The company also outpaced the domestic industry, registering 37.4% growth in March 2026, compared to the sector’s 29% growth, highlighting its strong market positioning.

The growth was driven by sustained demand across key agricultural regions and a well-diversified product portfolio. TAFE’s flagship brands, Massey Ferguson and Eicher Tractors, both achieved their highest-ever domestic sales during the fiscal year. Export performance remained stable, with 12,584 tractors shipped globally, reinforcing TAFE’s international footprint. To support rising demand, the company’s manufacturing plants operated at full capacity, with capacity expansion plans under active consideration.

Vice Chairman Lakshmi Venu attributed the performance to favourable monsoons, GST reductions, and a notable increase in mechanisation among small and first-time farmers. She highlighted that improved access to farm equipment is driving productivity gains and strengthening rural incomes.

While inflationary pressures and global supply disruptions persist, TAFE expects growth momentum to continue, supported by mechanisation trends, replacement demand, and recovery in export markets.
