HPCL Scales Up LPG Supply Chain, Ensures Delivery of 166+ Lakh Cylinders

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has strengthened its LPG distribution network, delivering over 166 lakh cylinders nationwide between April 1 and 13, highlighting operational scale and resilience amid elevated demand in select markets. The supply chain begins at refineries and import terminals, where LPG is processed and transported via tankers to bottling plants. At these facilities, cylinders undergo automated inspection, filling, sealing, and safety checks before dispatch to distributors for doorstep delivery. HPCL also supplied over 3.70 lakh 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders and more than 21,400 2 kg cylinders, expanding access to clean cooking fuel among migrant workers and economically diverse communities.

Digital integration continues to drive efficiency, with 99.3% of bookings made online, enabling real-time tracking and transparency through DAC/OTP authentication. The company also intensified vigilance measures, conducting 4,999 inspections, taking action against 114 distributors—including 30 suspensions—while carrying out 660 raids, registering 41 FIRs, and seizing 3,674 cylinders.

In Guwahati, LPG availability has remained stable despite intermittent demand pressure. Industry sources indicate that continuous replenishment and streamlined logistics have ensured uninterrupted supply, with distributors reporting timely deliveries and minimal disruption across the city. HPCL said its LPG ecosystem remains adequately stocked and operationally responsive, advising consumers to avoid unnecessary stocking to maintain smooth supply nationwide.
