TVS Racing expands grassroots motorsport push with India OMC 2026 program

TVS Motor Company on Monday announced the successful completion of the TVS India One Make Championship (OMC) 2026 Training & Selection Program, strengthening its long-term strategy to expand India’s grassroots motorsport ecosystem and nurture emerging racing talent. The nationwide initiative was conducted across four cities and concluded with the final selection round held from May 15 to May 17 at the Madras International Circuit (MIC), Chennai. More than 120 racers participated across Women, Media, Rookie, Electric and TVS Apache RR310 Expert categories. TVS Racing said the championship continues to serve as one of India’s leading rider development platforms by combining structured training, professional mentorship and competitive track exposure. Participants underwent evaluation sessions focused on riding technique, consistency, track awareness, safety and race discipline under the guidance of TVS Racing experts.

Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium, TVS Motor Company, said the program reflects the company’s continued commitment to democratising motorsport and creating a professional racing ecosystem for riders across categories. He added that TVS Racing continues to provide a structured pathway for riders to build racing skills and progress towards higher levels of motorsport competition. The 2026 season also marks 20 years of the TVS Apache brand, developed through TVS Racing’s “Track to Road” philosophy. Since the inception of TVS India OMC in 1994, the platform has trained more than 4,000 racers and emerged as one of the country’s most organised rider development ecosystems.

Guwahati is witnessing growing interest in premium and performance motorcycles, particularly among younger riders and biking communities. Dealers in the region believe initiatives like TVS India OMC are helping strengthen awareness around professional motorsport while boosting consumer engagement for racing-inspired motorcycles in Northeast India.
