Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj Felicitates 40 Meritorious NBSE Students in Dimapur

Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav urged students to pursue education with humility, dedication and determination, while encouraging them to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society and the nation. Addressing the 14th Felicitation Programme 2026 organised by the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj in Dimapur, the governor said education was the foundation of progress and character building. The programme was organised to honour meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students from the Bhojpuri community for their performance in the recently declared NBSE examinations. Congratulating the students for their achievements, Yadav said their success reflected hard work, discipline and the continuous support of parents and teachers. He said such accomplishments brought pride not only to families but also to the entire community.

“Students should continue to work hard with sincerity and humility and use education as a tool to serve society,” the governor said while addressing the gathering. He also appreciated parents and teachers for their sacrifices, guidance and encouragement in shaping the future of young students. According to him, the role played by families and educational institutions remained crucial in building a strong and responsible generation. Highlighting the role of the Bhojpuri community in Nagaland, Yadav said the community had contributed significantly to the social and cultural life of the state over the years. He further praised the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for organising the felicitation programme and said such initiatives help promote unity, encourage young minds and strengthen the value of education in society. Guest of honour and Bharatiya Janata Party Nagaland state treasurer Kamal Jain also congratulated the students during the programme. He acknowledged the important role played by parents and teachers in supporting students throughout their academic journey.

Jain said programmes recognising academic excellence motivate students to aim higher and perform better in future examinations and careers. He also commended the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for continuing the initiative every year. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address delivered by NBS president Rajeev Singh. Cultural dance performances were also presented during the event. A total of 40 students were felicitated at the programme. The awardees included four toppers from the NBSE HSLC and HSSLC examinations, 15 HSSLC students who secured 80 per cent and above, and 21 HSLC students who scored 80 per cent and above.
