The future of India’s pet care industry is being shaped far beyond the metros, and Guwahati is leading the charge. With pet care orders surging 1,473% year-on-year, the city has emerged as the country’s fastest-growing pet care market, highlighting the rapid rise of pet parenting across Tier II India.
Nationwide, Instamart recorded a 41% growth in pet care orders, fuelled by increasing demand for premium nutrition, grooming products, wellness supplements, and treats. As consumers spend more on their pets’ health and happiness, smaller cities are becoming some of the biggest drivers of category growth.
While Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi remain the biggest pet care markets overall, the real headline is happening elsewhere: Tier II+ cities posted 96% year-on-year growth in pet care orders.
