Major Drug Bust in Assam: 1.557 kg of Suspected Yaba Tablets Recovered in Sribhumi Raid

Assam Police seized 1.557 kg of suspected Yaba tablets worth an estimated Rs 2.4 crore during an anti-narcotics operation in Sribhumi district in the early hours of Friday, officials said.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team from RK Nagar Police Station intercepted the consignment before it could be distributed. One person was apprehended during the operation.

Police said the seized Yaba tablets were allegedly intended for illegal trafficking and posed a serious threat to the youth. A case has been registered, and legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant provisions of the law.

Describing the operation as part of the state’s sustained anti-drug campaign, Assam Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying action against narcotics networks and preventing the spread of drugs across the state.
