Sony bets on premium TV segment with BRAVIA 9II, BRAVIA 7II True RGB launch in India

Sony India has strengthened its premium television portfolio with the launch of its flagship BRAVIA 9II and the BRAVIA 7II, introducing its latest True RGB technology powered by the proprietary RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro to the Indian market. The new lineup is designed to deliver enhanced colour accuracy, wider colour volume, deeper blacks and higher brightness by independently controlling red, green and blue LEDs. Paired with the Advanced AI Cognitive Processor XR, the televisions optimisecolour, contrast and brightness in real time while preserving the creator’s original intent.

The BRAVIA 9II features Immersive Black Screen Pro, RGB Triluminos Max, Luminance Booster Pro, Smooth Colour Gradation and Acoustic Multi-Audio+ with Sound Positioning Tweeters and Up-Firing Beam Tweeters. Both the BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II support Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, XR Contrast Booster, X-Wide Angle Pro, Voice Zoom 3, 3D Surround Upscaling, My Cinema, Ambient Optimization and Studio Calibrated modes for Netflix, Prime Video and Sony Pictures Core. Powered by Google TV, the televisions offer personalised content discovery, while Gemini for Google TV will be introduced through a future over-the-air update. Buyers will also receive access to Sony Pictures Core, offering near 4K UHD Blu-ray quality streaming through Pure Stream and 10 movie credits valid for 24 months. Featuring an Immersive Frame, Mirage Stand, concealed cable management and an Inclusive Premium Remote with USB Type-C charging, backlit buttons and Find My Remote, the televisions combine premium design with everyday convenience.

Sony’s True RGB portfolio now spans 55-inch to 85-inch screen sizes. The BRAVIA 9II is priced at an MRP of Rs 8,39,900 for the 75-inch model and Rs 9,89,900 for the 85-inch variant, with Best Buy prices of Rs 5,39,990 and Rs 6,69,990, respectively. The BRAVIA 7II starts at an MRP of Rs 3,59,900 for the 55-inch model, while Best Buy prices begin at Rs 2,21,990. The televisions are available through Sony Centre, Sony Exclusive stores, ShopatSC.com, leading electronics retailers and major e-commerce platforms. In Guwahati, the launch is expected to further intensify competition in the premium television segment as demand for large-screen smart TVs continues to rise across Assam. Industry observers believe growing broadband penetration, increasing adoption of OTT platforms and rising disposable incomes are driving consumers towards premium home entertainment solutions. Sony’s expanded True RGB lineup is likely to attract affluent households, technology enthusiasts and premium residential buyers in Guwahati, strengthening the city’s position as an important market for high-end consumer electronics in Northeast India.
