Devotees in Dibrugarh and Upper Assam are enthusiastically anticipating the 12th Rath Yatra Mahotsav of Lord Jagannath, scheduled for July 16. The event, organized by the Jagannath Cultural Trust in Dibrugarh, will begin at 2:00 pm from the Jagannath Cultural Complex in Baughpara, Khanikar, proceeding to Auniati Satra and Kacharbari before returning to the temple. Participation is expected from thousands of devotees across the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Lakhimpur, and Dhemaji, marking the occasion with significant religious fervour and devotion.
The nine-day Mahotsav began on July 14, featuring Netrotsav and Navajaubana Darshan. The Rath Yatra includes various religious rituals such as Mangal Aarti, Nitya Puja, Havan, Ratha Puja, and Bhog Samarapan Prasad Seva, culminating in the Pahandi. Following the Rath Yatra, events like Hera Panchami, Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha, and Adhara Pana will take place, concluding with Niladri Bije on July 27.
