ShardaCare-Health city bets on Northeast expansion with specialist OPD launch in Dibrugarh

ShardaCare-Health city has strengthened its expansion strategy in Northeast India with the launch of specialised Outpatient Department (OPD) services in Dibrugarh in partnership with Aziz Diagnostic & Hospital, a unit of HM Hospital & Diagnostic Center. The move is aimed at improving access to super-speciality healthcare while expanding the healthcare provider’s regional footprint through strategic collaborations.

The newly launched OPD will offer specialist consultations in Neurology, Nephrology and Medical Oncology, led by Dr. Atampreet Singh, Senior Director & Head, Neurosciences, Dr. Kunal Raj Gandhi, Director, Nephrology, and Dr. Anindya Mukherjee, Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology. Besides consultations and second opinions, patients will receive treatment planning, follow-up care and referrals for advanced investigations and complex procedures at ShardaCare-Healthcity’s 600-bed super-speciality hospital in Greater Noida. Group CEO Dr. Kousar Shah said the partnership reflects the institution’s commitment to making advanced healthcare accessible beyond metropolitan cities by strengthening regional healthcare networks.

The expansion comes as demand for specialised medical services continues to rise across the Northeast, where chronic kidney disease affects an estimated 15-17 per cent of adults in India and the region records among the country’s highest incidence of oesophageal, stomach, liver, and head and neck cancers. Rising cases of stroke and other neurological disorders have also increased the need for timely specialist intervention.

In Dibrugarh, the launch is expected to enhance the city’s status as a healthcare destination for Upper Assam and neighbouring states. The presence of visiting specialists from a leading Delhi-NCR super-speciality hospital is likely to increase patient footfall, strengthen the local diagnostic and referral ecosystem, and reduce outbound medical travel, creating new growth opportunities for Dibrugarh’sorganised healthcare market.

The OPD will function at Aziz Diagnostic & Hospital from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, with nephrology consultations on every second Friday, medical oncology on every third Friday and neurosciences on every fourth Friday of each month.
