Nissan accelerates India growth with 218% jump in domestic sales

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has reported a strong turnaround in its India business, registering a 218% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale volumes and a 50% month-on-month rise in July 2026, driven by the launch of the all-new Nissan TEKTON and continued expansion of its SUV portfolio.

The company reported domestic wholesales of 4,518 units, export wholesales of 4,821 units and total wholesales of 9,339 units during July. Customer deliveries of the all-new Nissan TEKTON commenced nationwide on July 20 after its World Premiere on July 9, strengthening Nissan’s product lineup alongside the Magnite and Gravite.

Commenting on the performance, Nissan Motor India Managing Director SaurabhVatsa said the strong wholesale growth reflects increasing customer confidence in the brand and marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey. He said the TEKTON, introduced as Nissan celebrates 75 years of SUV excellence, combines design inspired by the legendary Nissan Patrol with advanced safety technologies, superior driving dynamics and enhanced comfort. Supported by the Nissan Care package, the SUV is expected to enhance customer ownership experience while contributing to sustainable long-term growth.

The launch follows an extensive product introduction programme that included a record-setting expedition recognised by the India Book of Records. A convoy of 60 Nissan TEKTON SUVs travelled from Chandigarh to Leh via the 16,703-foot-high Shinku La through the Zanskar region, earning the record for the “Largest Convoy of Single-Model 4-Wheeler to Reach Leh,” showcasing the vehicle’s durability, reliability and off-road capability.

As Nissan expands from a single-product offering to a comprehensive three-product portfolio, the company is strengthening its retail and service footprint across India to improve accessibility, customer convenience and overall ownership experience while reinforcing its commitment to quality, innovation and reliability.

In Guwahati, Nissan’s expanding SUV portfolio is expected to enhance its competitive position in Assam and the Northeast, where demand for premium and rugged SUVs continues to grow. The arrival of the TEKTON, backed by a wider dealership and service network, is likely to attract both urban buyers and customers from neighbouring states, creating fresh business opportunities for dealers in Guwahati while intensifying competition in the region’s fast-growing SUV market.
