Sarupathar SDPO arrested for alleged role in crude oil theft from ONGC pipeline

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dipen Patar has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a racket linked to the theft of crude oil from ONGC pipelines.
Patar was arrested by a team of Golaghat district police led by Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Jan Das. According to the initial report, the arrest followed an investigation into an alleged network involved in siphoning crude oil from ONGC pipelines in the area.
Sources said investigators had found phone records showing that the police officer was in touch with the oil thieves while the crime were being committed.
The arrest of a serving police officer in connection with the alleged crude oil theft racket has raised questions over the possible involvement of other officials in the illegal operation.
Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the extent of the alleged racket and determine Patar’s specific role in the case.
