The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with PayPal to equip youth, especially women from low-income families, with industry-relevant skills in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. This initiative, launched under PayPal’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Dr. Rishikesh Patankar, Vice President, NSDC, and Srini Venkatesan, Global Chief Technology Officer, PayPal.
The program will offer NSQF-aligned training across key fintech domains, including Bancassurance Relationship Associate, Customer Service Associate, and GST Assistant. Training courses will range from 420 to 480 hours, ensuring participants gain specialized expertise. “By providing industry-specific skills, we are creating pathways for meaningful careers and entrepreneurial ventures,” said Dr. Patankar.
The initiative will be implemented across Chennai, Patna, Hyderabad, Surat, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ranchi. NSDC aims to ensure 70% of participants engage in job fairs and interviews while also exploring self-employment avenues. In Guwahati, the program is set to enhance the BFSI talent pool, benefiting financial institutions and startups. As a growing commercial hub in the Northeast, Guwahati’s market will see increased job-ready professionals, boosting the city’s financial ecosystem. This collaboration marks a significant step toward empowering India’s workforce and strengthening the BFSI sector.
