Vi (Vodafone Idea Limited) has significantly expanded its network infrastructure by adding over 100,000 new towers across India in the first six months of FY24-25. This aggressive expansion underlines Vi’s strategy to enhance both 4G and 5G connectivity and improve service quality amid fierce market competition.
The company has already rolled out 5G services in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Patna, with launches planned for Delhi and Bangalore soon. Its 4G network has been upgraded across multiple spectrum bands (900 MHz to 2300 MHz), boosting indoor and outdoor coverage and serving more than 1.07 billion users nationwide. To capitalize on the IPL season, Vi introduced the “Netties” campaign featuring animated mobile tower avatars as a cricket team, symbolizing network strength and agility. Conceptualized by Ogilvy India, the campaign includes two TVCs running across TV, OTT, radio, and social media platforms.
Vi’s enhanced infrastructure is poised to address the increasing demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity among local consumers and businesses. The network upgrades are expected to improve data speeds and coverage in this vital Northeast trade hub, supporting Vi’s efforts to capture greater market share in the region.
