Nissan powers ahead with green initiatives and CNG retrofit push on World Environment Day

Nissan Motor India has launched a range of sustainability initiatives to mark World Environment Day 2025. The company has installed grid-based solar power systems at seven dealerships—Acuity Nissan (Baroda), Aarav Nissan (Mehsana), EVM Nissan (three in Kerala), Dada Nissan (Jalandhar), and Roshan Nissan (Jaipur)—ensuring 100% green energy for operations, with surplus electricity routed back to the grid.

Additionally, Nissan initiated a nationwide tree-sapling plantation activity at all its dealerships and workshops, inviting customers to plant saplings tagged with their names and vehicle numbers. Participants were also awarded a “Green Service Certificate” and seed packets to promote community-level greening efforts.

The automaker also announced a 15% reduction in plastic packaging and the rollout of a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite at ₹74,999. Initially launched across seven states, the CNG kit targets sustainability-focused consumers seeking fuel efficiency with minimal environmental impact. In Guwahati, dealers noted growing consumer traction for green initiatives, with increased interest in CNG variants and solar-powered dealership services. The demand for eco-conscious mobility is expected to rise, aligning with Nissan’s vision of sustainable growth and responsible innovation.
