Murchana Music Academy celebrates its Silver Jubilee at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra

Murchana Music Academy marked its Silver Jubilee with a cultural festival held at the Sri Sri Madhavadeva International Auditorium, located within Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. The occasion was honored by the presence of poet Nilim Kumar and Kandarpa Kumar Sharma, a member of the executive committee of Axam Xahitya Xabha, as special guests. Established on January 1, 2000, the academy provides organized training in a variety of musical instruments as well as vocal music. Under the guidance of Hiranya and Barnali Kalita, the academy has achieved international acclaim and has fostered talent through both offline and online avenues. The cultural program commenced with a group performance of “Ejaak Soraai Uri Uri Jay,” which was composed by Hiranya Kalita. Additionally, the event recognized the title ‘Sangeetacharya’ awarded to the distinguished Assamese musician Deepak Baruah, who received a certificate, a five-string violin, Phulaam Gamosa, Xoraai, and a commemorative memento. Students who excelled in the 2024 music examinations were honored with symbolic tokens of appreciation. The celebration concluded with a collective performance of Bishnu Prasad Rabha’s “Porajanamar Shubhalaganat Jodihe Amar Hoy Dekha”.
