A evaluation of the implementation of ‘Nijut Moina 2.0’ by the Assam CM to empower female students

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, presided over a high-level review meeting on Wednesday to evaluate readiness for the launch of the second iteration of the state government’s signature “Nijut Moina” program, which provides financial aid to female students pursuing higher education. To guarantee the initiative’s smooth implementation throughout the state, cabinet ministers, MLAs, deputy commissioners, heads of educational institutions, and top education department officials participated in the evaluation, which was done by video conference.

In his post on X, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the initiative, writing, “The fight against child marriage gets stronger.” Our flagship program, #NijutMoina, provided ₹132 crore in aid to over 2 lakh females last year. Through the provision of educational opportunities for girls from economically disadvantaged homes, the second edition of ‘Nijut Moina’ aims to strengthen the government’s commitment to preventing child marriage and advancing female education.
