The Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA) was formally launched at the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), Haflong Civil Hospital, marking a significant milestone in women’s health and community empowerment. The unveiling was followed by the opening of a Mega Health Blood Donation Drive at the ASTC Bus Terminal in Boildura and Haflong Civil Hospital, making the day a significant milestone for the district’s public health. Prioritizing women’s health, maternity and child care, and nutrition while promoting community involvement is the goal of the SNSPA, a flagship program of the Ministries of Health and Family Welfare and Women and Child Development. On his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar District started the nationwide initiative.
With over one lakh health camps planned nationwide, it is expected to be India’s greatest health outreach program for women and children. A large number of officials and dignitaries attended the Haflong event. The chief guest for the event was Mohet Hojai, chairman of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC). District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, NCHAC Executive Member Donpainon Thaosen, Principal Secretary Partha Jahari, Joint Secretary (Health) Rebecca Changsan, Joint Director of Medical Services Dr. Jesmin Begum, senior physicians, representatives from the health department, and members of the community were among the other notable guests. Chairman Mohet Hojai characterized the Abhiyaan as a revolutionary program that enables women to become equal partners in the development of the country in his speech.
