Ambuja Cements along with the Adani Foundation Improve Rural Connectivity in Umrangso

Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, has strengthened rural connectivity  in Umrangso, by restoring a key connecting road between Tharvelangso and Borolokhindong villages. For several years, the 2.5 km stretch linking the two villages had severely deteriorated, making travel difficult and affecting mobility, safety, and livelihoods for local residents. The poor condition of the road created challenges for daily commuting, access to essential services, and the transportation of agricultural produce.

Responding to the needs of the community, the Adani Foundation undertook critical patchwork restoration of the road to improve accessibility and ensure smoother movement for villagers.

With the improved road infrastructure, residents now experience safer and more reliable travel throughout the year. Schoolchildren can commute more comfortably, villagers can access nearby services more efficiently, and farmers are able to transport their produce to markets with greater ease. Today, around 157 villagers are benefiting from the enhanced connectivity, reflecting Ambuja Cements’ continued commitment to supporting rural infrastructure and sustainable community development.
