Apraava Energy’s AI-ML solution recognised by Ministry of Power to improve India’s power distribution sector

The growing role of artificial intelligence in India’s power sector came into focus after Apraava Energy’s AI-ML solution was recognised by the Ministry of Power at a national-level conference in Mumbai. The recognition highlights the shift towards technology-led reforms in electricity distribution.

Apraava Energy presented its next-generation platform Discom GPT (Grid.), designed to help power utilities make smarter and faster decisions using real-time data and predictive analytics. The system supports demand forecasting, early fault detection, and automation of operational workflows.

Power sector observers in Guwahati noted that such digital tools could be useful for managing changing power demand in urban and semi-urban areas of Assam. The Ministry’s conference saw participation from DISCOMs, metering service providers, and technology firms, with nearly 200 innovations showcased.

Apraava Energy secured the runner-up position in the AMISP category. With a target of installing about 7.8 million smart meters across India, the company said it remains committed to supporting RDSS goals.
