A devastating road accident on the Moran bypass near Khatkhati this morning, August 26 has left a school student dead and his father critically injured. The mishap occurred when a Bolero pickup truck collided head-on with a Hyundai Exter.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, the victim’s father, Khagen Baruah, a resident of Pani Tola, Moran, was driving his child to school when the collision took place. Tragically, the student succumbed to injuries on the spot. Khagen Baruah was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the Bolero pickup was transporting intoxicating substances at the time of the accident. Authorities are probing whether reckless driving and illegal cargo contributed to the fatal crash.
