India commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrating the 25th anniversary of its triumph in the 1999 Kargil War. The occasion, organized by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, paid tribute to the courageous soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, attended the event and was accorded full military honors. Additionally, a wreath-laying ceremony was held to honor the memory of the fallen heroes, which included ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas. Distinguished retired officers and the families of Kargil War heroes also took part in the event. Cultural performances and speeches by NCC cadets and students from Army School Narengi were also part of the program.
