Assam’s Minister of State Sanjoy Kishan visits Dima Hasao for two days

For the first time since being reassigned as the district’s Guardian Minister, Assam Minister of State for Tea Tribe and Labour Welfare, Sanjoy Kishan, traveled to Dima Hasao for two days. Along with Executive Member Probita Johori, Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa, and other officials from the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), the Minister visited the villages of Nanadisa and Saron in the Mahur constituency. The group talked about the prerequisites for finishing the projects and examined the status of the Model Anganwadi Center constructions.

Later, in order to assess the progress of several state and council-implemented schemes, such as the Jal Jeevan Mission, education, and agriculture projects, a review meeting was organized at the Council Secretariat conference hall. Concurrently, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita, the chairman of the 7th Assam State Finance Commission, attended a joint meeting. Securing special provisions for Dima Hasao, the only hill district in Assam, under the 7th Finance Commission was the main focus of the talks.

Thai Tsho Daulagupu, the principal secretary, gave a thorough PowerPoint presentation on the council’s operations and the district’s physical characteristics. Rajit Karigapsa, the Normal Sector Principal Secretary for the NCHAC, was also in attendance. In his speech, Minister Sanjoy Kishan emphasized Dima Hasao’s tourism industry’s enormous potential and expressed confidence that the district might develop into a popular travel destination on par with Meghalaya and Kaziranga. He gave the audience his word that he would work with the Assam Tourism Minister to promote tourism potential so the district would get the recognition it merits.
