Assam’s second batch of GAPPY Scholars ready to train for UPSC 2026 exam in Delhi

Assam’s Governor Assam Pratibha Protsahan Yojana (GAPPY) has announced its second batch of scholars selected for intensive free coaching for the 2026 UPSC Civil Services Examination in Delhi. Launched in 2024 by Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya in partnership with Arya Pratibha Vikas Sansthan (APVS), the initiative targets talented students from economically weaker sections of the state.

This year, the Talent Search Examination attracted 270 aspirants from districts including Sivasagar, Nagaon, and West Karbi Anglong. After counselling, essay tests, and personal interviews held in Guwahati, ten outstanding candidates were chosen for coaching at reputed institutes such as Vision IAS, Vajiram & Ravi, ALS IAS, and Drishti IAS Academy. APVS will provide mentorship, residential support, and guidance, ensuring all expenses are covered under the GAPPY scheme.

In Guwahati, the programme has already sparked interest among local aspirants and educational circles. Coaching centres in the city report a rise in inquiries and motivational workshops inspired by GAPPY, reflecting the city’s growing enthusiasm for civil services preparation and the aspirational outlook among its youth. Since 2019, APVS has supported over 200 students nationwide, with more than 100 clearing the UPSC exam. Shri S.K. Arya, Chairman of APVS, praised the Governor for championing the cause and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to nurturing Assam’s brightest minds.
