Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (DHAC), Debolal Gorlosa, has formally launched the initiative “Dimasa Dara-Disa Ni Hamdaone Riphain” at the Heritage Museum, Maibang, marking a significant step in preserving the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the Dimasa tribe. The Dimasa textbook “Yaowaisainthi Belep Lairimin-1” (AEC 101 DIMASA – MIL Communication), which is now offered at the degree level, was also released by CEM Gorlosa during the ceremony. Speaking to the audience, he emphasized the critical role that the preservation and promotion of the Dimasa language, literature, and cultural identity play in fostering community pride and guaranteeing the passing down of indigenous knowledge to future generations.
Mohet Hojai, Chairman of the DHAC; Ramesh Thaosen, ACS (Retd.) and President of the Dimasa Sahitya Sabha; Dhriti Thaosen, MAC, DHAC; Donpainon Thaosen, EM, DHAC; Manjit Naiding, EM, DHAC; Probita Johori, EM, DHAC; Monjoy Langthasa, MAC, DHAC; Projit Hojai, MAC, DHAC; and Herojit Jidung, MAC, DHAC, were among the dignitaries who attended the event. Members of the Dimasa Text Book Evolution Committee, the directors of the Cultural Department of DHAC, and the principals of Haflong Government College, Maibang Degree College, and Dibolong Model Degree College were also in attendance. The event was further enhanced by the participation of GBs, Mujaris, and All Ringkhu Damsa members, who demonstrated the community’s solidarity and dedication to conserving their ancestry.
