Axis Max Life Launches Insurance Awareness Drive in Arunachal Pradesh

Axis Max Life Insurance Limited, formerly Max Life Insurance Company Limited, has strengthened its Northeast growth strategy by hosting Arunachal Pradesh’s first-ever state-level workshop on the State Insurance Plan (SIP). Appointed by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India as the Lead Insurer (Life) for Arunachal Pradesh, the company is driving a coordinated push to deepen insurance penetration in the state.

The workshop was attended by Shri Satyajit Tripathi, Member (Distribution), IRDAI, along with senior officials from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, including Karluk Ronya, Director, Accounts and Treasuries, and Nabam Rajesh, Deputy Director, Panchayati Raj. Axis Max Life was represented by its top leadership, including Managing Director and CEO Sumit Madan, Director and Chief Business Officer (Partnership Channels) Anurag Gupta, and other senior executives.

During the event, Axis Max Life unveiled the State Insurance Plan Report 2025, which charts the roadmap towards IRDAI’s goal of “Insurance for All by 2047.” The workshop also focused on rolling out the “Bima Trinity” — Bima Sugam, Bima Vistar and Bima Vahak — with an emphasis on affordable products, digital access and women-led distribution to reach remote and underserved areas. The company plans a statewide awareness drive under the SIP framework.

Most Northeast insurance operations are anchored in Guwahati, making the city a critical control centre for regional expansion. Increased insurance activity in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to boost policy volumes, agency networks and backend operations managed from Guwahati, reinforcing its position as the key insurance market hub for the entire Northeast.
