As the world observes World Heart Day 2025 under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat,” health experts in India are highlighting the rising threat of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which strike Indians a decade earlier than the global average. With heart disease affecting young adults and women facing higher first-heart-attack mortality, adopting preventive measures has become critical. Nutritionists recommend incorporating California Almonds into daily diets, citing over 200 studies that show almonds’ role in lowering bad cholesterol, reducing inflammation, and supporting overall cardiovascular health.
Sheela Krishnaswamy, Nutrition and Wellness Consultant, emphasized that almonds are a nutritional powerhouse rich in healthy fats, fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium, which align with ICMR and FSSAI guidelines. Ritika Samaddar from Max Healthcare added that small dietary changes, like consuming almonds, can help manage cholesterol and maintain blood pressure amidst busy lifestyles.
Local retailers have reported a spike in demand for almonds leading up to World Heart Day, reflecting growing awareness among health-conscious consumers. Experts suggest that including almonds in breakfast routines can offer sustained energy and support heart health, making it a simple yet effective preventive measure for the city’s working population. Celebrities like Soha Ali Khan are also promoting almonds as part of a balanced lifestyle, encouraging wider adoption of heart-healthy habits.
