The Golaghat Nagarik Mancha asked the Golaghat district’s district commissioner to make sure that during the Assamese month of “Bhadoh,” the cost of necessities like gram pea, moong, and edible oil doesn’t go up. The mancha’s president, working president, and general secretary signed a memo that was delivered to the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday. The memorandum made clear that the average person had suffered as a result of the recent increase in the cost of necessities. The price rise would make it more difficult for devotees to give prayers and carry out rituals at namghars, mandirs, and temples during the month of Bhadoh.
In addition, the mancha asked the government to take administrative action to avoid any law and order scenario resulting from civil discontent and backed the ongoing eviction campaign. The mancha also asked the authorities to guarantee parking spaces for customers in front of V-Mart and Style Bazar, as well as to erect permanent barriers on the walkways connecting Thana Chariali and Tokani Chariali. Additionally, they have called on the authorities to deal with the street food vendors who are clogging the roads in front of Vishal Mega Mart. The mancha was given the Deputy Commissioner’s word that he would investigate the situation and take appropriate measures.
