Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, officially opened a new dialysis facility at Hezukhu Memorial District Hospital, Zunheboto, which was donated by Indian Oil Aarogyam. During his remarks, Dharam Raj expressed gratitude to the hospital and the Department of Health and Family Welfare for their efforts in setting up the dialysis center. He referred to the new unit as a significant turning point in public healthcare, pointing out the rising incidence of kidney-related illnesses and cancer. In order to provide top-notch care, the dialysis unit will be run by skilled technicians, nurses, and doctors under the direction of specialized doctors, according to Medical Superintendent Zunheboto, Dr. S. Kuotsutho. He emphasized that the project strengthens the district’s commitment to affordable, high-quality healthcare while also expanding vital health services.
Dr. K. Shikato Sema, SMO, District Hospital, chaired the session and noted that chronic kidney failure, which is frequently brought on by uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension, is becoming a greater problem in the area. He pointed out that many dialysis patients had to go outside the district, which caused them to experience mental and financial hardship. Town council members, hospital employees, CMO office representatives, Sumi Totimi Hoho, and civil society organizations attended the occasion. Pastor Kughavi V. Chishi of NCRC Sumi, Zunheboto, offered a dedicatory prayer, and Dr. K. Akaho Sema, senior specialist at District Hospital, gave the vote of gratitude.
