Fired By Elon Musk, Ex-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal’s AI Venture Launches ‘Deep Research API’

Former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has announced his latest AI venture, unveiling the ‘Deep Research API’—a tool aimed at surpassing both human performance and leading AI models like GPT-5. In a LinkedIn post, Agrawal revealed that the API had outperformed competitors on two of the industry’s most difficult benchmarks, marking a significant step forward in the global race for AI supremacy.

Agrawal is the founder of Parallel Web Systems Inc., a Palo Alto-based startup that supports large-scale research operations for startups and enterprises. He noted that the company facilitates millions of research tasks daily, helping organizations automate human-centric workflows with accuracy that goes beyond human capabilities.

Agrawal’s career began as a researcher at Microsoft in 2006, followed by brief stints at Yahoo and AT&T. He joined Twitter in 2011 as a Distinguished Software Engineer, later becoming CTO, and eventually CEO in 2021. However, he was removed from the role after Elon Musk acquired the company in 2022.

An alumnus of IIT Bombay with a B.Tech in Computer Science, Agrawal completed his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2005.
