The first production run rolled out the Cinthol Original soap bar, marking a key milestone for the company.
The plant is expected to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, with a focus on employing 50% women and 5% from LGBTQIA+ and persons with disabilities communities. “This facility represents our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity,” said Nadir Godrej. The factory will manufacture top brands like Cinthol, Godrej No.1, GoodKnight, and Godrej Aer, with a projected turnover of ₹1,500 crore. It is equipped with Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI and IoT, for enhanced efficiency.
The facility’s production boost is expected to strengthen GCPL’s presence in key markets like Guwahati, ensuring faster product availability and improved supply chain efficiency. This expansion will benefit retailers by meeting the growing demand for personal care and home products in the region. Chief Minister Stalin praised the investment, highlighting its role in Tamil Nadu’s industrial growth and employment generation.
