Godrej initiative puts focus on contemporary Indian Christmas celebrations

Christmas celebrations in Guwahati are changing, and a new campaign by Godrej Vikhroli Cucina is reflecting that shift. Titled “Jingle Bells Unwrapped,” the campaign captures how young Indians are creating their own festive moments, far from the picture-perfect scenes seen in films.

Instead of snow-filled streets and large family dinners, many Guwahati residents celebrate Christmas with flatmates, friends and colleagues. Shared snacks, video calls with family and small rituals now define the season. The new Christmas track, created with Voctronica and featuring Godrej Yummmiez, mirrors this reality.

The campaign also includes well-known chefs Amrita Raichand and Ajay Chopra and focuses on how food plays a quiet but important role in celebrations. A warm snack or a familiar flavour often becomes the emotional centre of the festival.

Godrej says the idea behind the campaign is to show that festivals today are about personal choices and comfort. In a fast-growing city like Guwahati, where lifestyles are increasingly urban and busy, the message connects with young people balancing work, friendships and festive joy.
