Guwahati riders emerge victorious at FMSCI INRSC East zone sprint rally

The FMSCI Indian National Sprint Rally Championship (INRSC) – East Zone concluded in thrilling fashion on February 1 at the challenging PRP Valley private track in the Panbari area of Guwahati. The high-octane sprint rally drew riders from across the Northeast and eastern India, turning the city into a buzzing hub of national-level motorsport action for the day. The event proved to be a proud moment for the host city as Guwahati riders dominated the podiums across multiple categories, underlining the region’s growing stature in Indian rallying. Spectators were treated to close competition, technical riding, and a festive atmosphere that matched the intensity on track.

Shillong’s Banteilang Jyrwa emerged as one of the standout performers of the rally, clocking the best overall timing and registering three victories across different categories. Representing the Petronas TVS Racing Team India, Jyrwa’s composed yet aggressive riding earned widespread praise from fans and officials alike. Equally impressive was Guwahati’s seasoned national rallyist Madhurjya Jyoti Rabha, who delivered a commanding performance by securing seven podium finishes, including four first-place wins across categories—further cementing his reputation as one of the most consistent riders in the championship. He was closely followed by fellow Guwahati riders Anupam Dey and Kaustav Kalita, both of whom showcased strong pace and technical skill.

The Veteran Class saw local ace Amarjit Singh dominate the field, with Dipak Boro and Deepak Singh completing the podium in a competitive outing that highlighted experience and racecraft. In the Ladies Class, Daisy Saikia of Tinsukia claimed top honors with a confident ride, earning applause for her performance on the demanding sprint layout. Adding to the excitement was the Local Support Class, introduced to encourage grassroots participation. Riders LaLruatsanga from Mizoram, along with Aranb Kalita and Hansraj Saikia from Guwahati, shared the podiums, bringing regional flair and fresh energy to the championship. With strong participation, smooth organization, and a dominant showing by local talent, the Guwahati round of the INRSC East Zone not only delivered thrilling racing but also reinforced Assam’s emergence as a key destination on India’s motorsport map.
