Haflong marches unitedly in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally despite rain

Haflong saw an impressive demonstration of patriotism as locals defied the pouring rains to attend the “Har Ghar Tiranga” rally in honor of India’s 79th Independence Day. The town was painted in the tricolor as the march started from the N.C. Hills Autonomous Council grounds and ended at the Sambhudhan statue point. Nandita Gorlosa, the Hon. Assam Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, who led the rally, praised the participants’ unwavering excitement in spite of the constant rain.

“Our pride in our country and our spirit were unaffected by the rain. She expressed her gratitude to the kids and representatives of the District Administration and Council for their enthusiastic involvement. Munindra Nath Ngatey, the district commissioner for Dima Hasao, highlighted the rally’s deeper goal, saying, “The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign honors the sacrifices of our great leaders, inspires future generations, and rekindles the spirit of the freedom movement. It has great significance in a district as culturally diverse as Dima Hasao.”

MACs John Poithong, Noah Daime, Lalremsiama Darnei, and Pronath Raijyung, as well as the honorable EM Donphainon Thaosen and Dhriti Thaosen, MAC and Deputy Chairman of the District Planning Board, were among the notable attendees. Officials, employees, and people gladly joined the march.
