India CCTV market at inflection point as regulations drive demand for trusted, compliant solutions

India’s surveillance and CCTV market is entering a phase of structural realignment following recent regulatory actions, with industry players pointing to a sharp rise in demand for trusted and compliant security solutions. According to Pushkar Gokhale, Business Head – Security Solutions Business at Godrej Enterprises Group, the latest developments mark a significant inflection point for the sector.

Gokhale said that in a sensitive category where data protection, system integrity and national security intersect, “trust and accountability cannot be optional.” He noted that Indian brands are gaining market traction by aligning closely with local regulations, strengthening data security frameworks, and ensuring consistent product quality and service support.

The shift comes amid growing concerns over data vulnerabilities and supply-chain transparency, which are influencing procurement decisions across enterprise and government segments. Market dynamics are also evolving as security solutions move beyond conventional monitoring to more integrated and intelligent systems.

The transition is further supported by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, which mandates free, informed, specific and unambiguous user consent. This is expected to push organisations to adopt greater transparency in data collection, storage and usage practices. Industry players like Godrej are positioning themselves to capitalise on this shift, focusing on high-quality, reliable and India-centric security solutions aimed at ensuring long-term customer trust and operational resilience.
