India’s workforce training transforms by NSDC in 2024

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has stood out as an important player in the skill development ecosystem in India as the end of 2024 approaches. Established to enhance the employability of the Indian workforce, NSDC has made significant strides this year in various sectors, as envisioned by the government’s vision for a skilled India. This review encapsulates NSDC’s achievements, initiatives, and future prospects.

In 2024, the Skill India Digital Hub set up by the National Skill Development Corporation has emerged as an integral hub for digital learning and skill development. NSDC’s initiatives have some interesting economic contributions. The organization has led a 3.5% growth in the IT and manufacturing sectors. In line with the National Goals for Gender Equality and Empowerment, NSDC has launched many initiatives to promote women-led entrepreneurship.

PMKVY 4.0 (2022-2026) targets skilling over 50 lakh youth with industry-relevant training. In 2024, NSDC Academy made significant progress, reaching 30 lakh students through the Skill Up India 4.0 initiative.
