Nagaland Chief Secretary inaugurates renovated vision Nagaland Hall

Nagaland Chief Secretary Dr. J. Alam inaugurated the newly renovated Vision Nagaland Hall at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Kohima on Thursday. The event marks a milestone in the state’s efforts to modernise its public administration training facilities.

The inauguration ceremony featured the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and ribbon-cutting by Dr. Alam, who praised the efforts of the engineering team and ATI officials for completing the project within tight budget constraints. Commending the successful renovation, he said the hall would support ATI’s growing role in hosting high-level training programmes involving national and international faculty.

He also acknowledged the critical support of the Finance and Planning Department, especially for the timely release of funds, and highlighted the importance of continuous investment in human resource development. “Upgraded facilities are essential to preparing our civil servants for the evolving demands of governance,” Dr. Alam stated. He urged ATI to pursue further improvements in the future.

ATI Director and Secretary for Economics & Statistics, Akunu S. Meyase, welcomed dignitaries and recalled that the hall, originally constructed during 2008–2009, had undergone urgent upgrades this year. She reaffirmed ATI’s commitment to excellence in training delivery, citing ongoing programmes for heads of government offices, NCS and NSS probationers.

A technical presentation by Executive Engineer Er. Akule Pusa from PWD (Housing) detailed the renovation project, which began on April 3, 2025, and was completed within three months. The hall was refurbished at a cost of Rs. 40 lakhs and now offers a seating capacity for 80 to 100 participants. The engineer shared insights into the design approach, material choices, and challenges overcome during the process.

The ceremony began with a dedicatory prayer by Rev. Fr. C. M. Joseph, Parish Priest and Rector of Christ the King Church, Kohima Village. The event was attended by senior officials from the Finance, Planning, and P&AR Departments, as well as representatives from NCSA, NPSA, NSSA, CANSSEA, NIDA, FONSESA, and NF&ASA, along with invited resource persons.
