Xiaomi India on Monday launched the REDMI 15A 5G, a new smartphone aimed at delivering reliable performance and long battery life for everyday users. The device is designed to support heavy daily usage such as streaming, multitasking and social media, without compromising on efficiency. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core 5G processor and backed by a 6300mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to two days on a single charge. It supports 15W charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. The REDMI 15A 5G features a 6.9-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 800 nits brightness and Wet Touch Technology 2.0, along with TÜV Rheinland certifications for reduced eye strain.
For imaging and entertainment, the device offers a 32MP AI dual rear camera, an 8MP front camera and up to 200% volume boost. Running on HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16, it promises four years of Android updates and six years of security support. Additional features include IP52 rating, fingerprint sensor, dual SIM and expandable storage up to 2TB.
The launch is expected to strengthen Xiaomi’s foothold in the Guwahati market, where demand for budget-friendly 5G smartphones continues to rise. With competitive pricing starting at Rs 12,999, the REDMI 15A 5G is likely to attract students, young professionals and first-time smartphone buyers in the region, especially as offline retail and e-commerce penetration grows steadily. The device will go on sale from April 3 via Flipkart, mi.com and authorised Xiaomi retail stores.
