According to a report published by the Forest Department, Manas National Park, which is located inside the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), has shown a consistent and impressive increase in tourism revenue over the last three fiscal years. The Tourism Department is aggressively attempting to maintain and expand upon this encouraging momentum in collaboration with the Forest Department and regional stakeholders. Until tourism-related activities, the park has earned a total of Rs 1,73,31,100 during the current fiscal year 2024–2025 (until May 2025). 3,426 foreign visitors and 60,921 Indian visitors were present at the park during this time.
Compared to the previous fiscal year, 2023–2024, which brought in Rs 1,40,64,000 and saw 50,515 Indian and 1,816 foreign visitors, this indicates a notable increase. The park received Rs 1,35,98,275 in 2022–2023 from 924 foreign and 55,257 Indian visitors. The figures unmistakably show an upward trend, especially in the arrival of foreign visitors, which has more than tripled in the previous three years. The tranquil atmosphere that has established itself in the area in recent years under the direction of BTC CEO Pramod Boro is largely responsible for this spike in tourism.
The Manas National Park in BTR has experienced stable tourism growth due to improved law and order, infrastructure, accessibility, and community involvement. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and biodiversity hotspot, is playing a crucial role in conservation and nature-based tourism in Assam, with consistent rises in footfall and revenue.
