SEBI Chairman Launches Comic Series to Boost Investor Awareness

The CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF), under the guidance of SEBI, has launched a multilingual investor education comic series in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, aiming to simplify financial concepts and promote informed investing. The series was formally unveiled by SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey at CDSL’s 3rd Annual Symposium, Reimagine: Securities Market through Data Synergy.

The initiative converts complex and often overlooked financial topics into engaging, story-driven narratives to strengthen investor awareness and participation in India’s capital markets. The comics will be distributed in both digital and print formats through investor protection programmes and are available in 12 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Oriya, ensuring nationwide reach.

Pandey said, “Investor awareness is fundamental to building inclusive and transparent securities markets,” adding that initiatives such as “Slam the Scam” and “AtmanirbHER” have strengthened investor confidence. CDSL MD and CEO Nehal Vora noted that storytelling makes investor education “simple, relatable and trustworthy,” while CDSL IPF Head Sudhish Pillai emphasised that awareness is key to strengthening investor protection.

In Guwahati, the availability of the series in Assamese will support financial literacy drives in the Northeast, helping first-time investors better understand risks and opportunities in the securities market and encouraging broader retail participation.
