India is poised to become the world’s largest hub of AI-ready school students within the next six months, said Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE, while addressing the 10-year celebration of the Skill India Mission—BharatSkillNxt 2025—at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Highlighting India’s bold move toward a tech-driven future, he launched multiple initiatives, including the SOAR program, IndiaSkills 2025–26, and a revamped Apprenticeship Training Portal.
SOAR (Skilling for AI Readiness), targeting students from Classes 6–12 and educators, will bridge the digital divide with structured AI modules. The event also witnessed the launch of key reports like the Semiconductor Workforce Strategy and signing of impactful MoUs, including Indo-French collaborations for vocational education and training.
Union ministers Jitin Prasada and Dr. Sukanta Majumdar underscored the integration of AI, entrepreneurship, and vocational education in national development, aligning with NEP 2020 and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. In Guwahati, educational stakeholders welcomed the SOAR initiative and Skill Impact Bond, noting its potential to uplift rural and urban learners through digital skilling. Training centers across Assam are gearing up to implement AI modules, particularly in the electronics and healthcare sectors, to boost youth employability and tech inclusion.
