Software Engineer Found Dead in Chennai Lodge; Bug Repellent Fumes Suspected

Police are investigating the death of a software engineer from Kerala who was found dead in a private lodge in Chennai’s Choolaimedu area, with preliminary suspicion pointing to suffocation caused by bug repellent fumes.
The deceased has been identified as Sree Das Sathyadasan, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, who was employed with a private multinational company in Chennai. He had been staying at a lodge on First Street, Choolaimedu, and was sharing the room with another man, Maheswara Rao.
According to police, Sree Das was found unresponsive inside the room. Initial inquiries suggest that prolonged inhalation of fumes from mosquito repellent tablets may have led to suffocation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
