Strengthening governance: Brahmaputra Wing and Forensic Lab opened by Amit Shah in Guwahati

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is currently in Assam for two days, officially opened the Raj Bhawan’s recently built Brahmaputra wing in Guwahati. Additionally, from the Raj Bhawan premises, he virtually opened the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory-North East at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 45 crore. Housing complexes, barracks, and hospitals are just a few of the development projects that Shah essentially opened and laid the foundation for for the ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles.

He had already established a ‘Sindur’ tree, performed ‘gau pujan’, and offered prayers at a temple inside the Raj Bhawan while reciting vedic hymns. He was met at the site by Governor Laxmi Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Shah will also be present for the centennial commemoration of the birth of Golap Borbora, a well-known socialist leader and the state’s first non-Congress chief minister. The show will focus on Borbora’s work as a legislator, independence fighter, and leader of the Janata Party government in Assam between 1978 and 1979.
