Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Wednesday launched Season 2 of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), announcing plans to invest in the league to help bring motorsport into the Indian mainstream.
At a press event in Mumbai, Khan—already the face of ISRL—shared his vision of transforming the niche sport into a national phenomenon. “This league is about pushing boundaries,” he said, unveiling the ISRL Proving Grounds, a dedicated 7-acre facility near Pune for training youth riders and testing automotive innovations. The new season has already registered 155 international athletes, reflecting the growing global interest. ISRL will also introduce Fan Parks to combine racing with entertainment for families and brands alike.
Veer Patel, ISRL Managing Director, said Khan’s transition from ambassador to investor “adds unmatched cultural capital and mainstream trust” to the league’s future. The league aims to scale across Indian cities, attract international talent, and boost brand engagement through immersive racing experiences. In Guwahati, which has a rising base of young biking enthusiasts and off-roading clubs, ISRL’s growing popularity is expected to spark local events and dealership tie-ups. The region’s automotive retailers see this as a golden opportunity to engage with Gen-Z consumers through motorsport-driven campaigns.
