Tata AIA Life Insurance has launched a landmark digital education initiative across seven government schools in Dimapur, aiming to empower 3,267 students through state-of-the-art smart classrooms. The three-year CSR project (2024–2026) addresses the digital infrastructure gap highlighted in the ASER 2024 report, which found that only 32.6% of schools in Nagaland have computers, with minimal usage.
The initiative includes smart classrooms with interactive tools, subject-specific digital content, training for 168 teachers, and essential infrastructure like projectors and connectivity. In collaboration with Teachmint Edutech, localized e-learning resources are also being developed to align with regional needs. Kristyl Bhesania, CHRO, Tata AIA Life Insurance, said, “Our presence in Nagaland is not just about insurance — it’s about building a digitally empowered future for communities.”
In Kohima, local educators and parents have welcomed the move, seeing it as a potential blueprint for replication in the capital’s schools. The market sees strong interest from educational stakeholders and policymakers looking to bridge the digital divide in urban and semi-urban clusters. Additionally, Tata AIA continues its support for vulnerable families through a state-run INR 2 lakh insurance cover scheme, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Nagaland’s development.
