At least three people were killed in a tragic road accident near the Pathalipahar toll gate in Lakhimpur district on Monday.
According to initial reports, a speeding Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire lost control and crashed into a divider near the toll gate. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the death of three occupants on the spot.
Several others who were travelling in the vehicle sustained serious injuries. The injured were immediately rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Local residents and police personnel reached the spot soon after the accident and initiated rescue operations. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
The incident has created shock in the area as police continue their probe into the matter.
