Truecaller surpasses 500 million users, India anchors growth as global demand for spam protection rises

Truecaller has crossed the 500 million user mark globally, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the trusted communication segment. The platform added over 50 million users in 2025, driven by rising concerns around spam, scams, and unwanted communication across markets.

India remains the company’s core growth driver with over 350 million users, while international markets account for 150 million users. The company has also crossed 4 million paying subscribers, indicating strong monetisation momentum. CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala said the milestone reflects the increasing need for secure communication, adding that the company is targeting one billion users as its next growth phase.

Truecaller, which has surpassed one billion downloads globally, identified 68 billion spam and fraud calls in 2025 alone. Headquartered in Stockholm and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since October 2021, the company continues to operate with a lean workforce of around 470 employees while scaling its global footprint. Users are increasingly relying on apps like Truecaller to screen unknown calls and avoid fraud, especially as digital transactions and online interactions grow. The trend reflects a broader shift in smaller urban markets where trusted communication platforms are becoming essential for everyday connectivity and safety.
