Veeam Software strengthens North-East cyber & AI ecosystem with Guwahati Summit

Veeam Software accelerated its Bharat Cyber Suraksha – Saksham Bharat mission with the North-East Cyber Resilience & AI Transformation Summit held in Guwahati, signalling rising investments in cyber resilience and AI-led digital infrastructure across the region. The company brought together policymakers, academia and industry stakeholders to address growing cyber risks, with 90% of affected organisations reporting attempts to compromise backup data.

A key development was the release of the “Bharat Cyber Suraksha – North-East Cyber Resilience & Digital Readiness Report 2025,” prepared with the Northeast India Public Policy Forum. The report outlines actionable recommendations to strengthen data protection, enhance cloud infrastructure, build skills pipelines and ensure compliance with DPDP Act and CERT-In guidelines. Ministry of Home Affairs data citing over 47,000 cyber incidents across the eight North-Eastern states added urgency to the initiative.

Veeam exchanged Memorandums of Intent with Assam Science and Technology University, Assam Don Bosco University and Assam Down Town University to set up Cyber Resilience Centres of Excellence and integrate AI and cybersecurity curricula. The “Main Hoon Saksham” skilling drive was launched with Women in Cloud and NxtGen.

Guwahati’s IT services and education sector stands to benefit from rising demand for cyber-secure infrastructure and AI-ready talent. Technology training institutes and regional enterprises in Guwahati could align with the emerging cyber-resilience ecosystem to tap cross-border and North-East digital growth opportunities.
